Stock market update: Private banks mixed; YES Bank jumps over 5%

NEW DELHI: Shares of private banks were on a mixed note in Friday’s early trade.

Shares of YES Bank (up 5.27 per cent), HDFC Bank (up 1.18 per cent), IndusInd Bank (up 0.91 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 0.74 per cent) were among the top gainers in the index.

While Axis Bank (down 1.47 per cent ), RBL Bank (down 0.87 per cent ), DCB Bank (down 0.44 per cent ) and IDFC First Bank (down 0.25 per cent ) were among the top losers.

The Nifty Private Bank index was trading 0.5 per cent up at 14,898.55 around 09:26 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 9.20 points at 10,714.0, while BSE Sensex was up 64.21 points at 36,157.68.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Zee Entertainment, Indian Energy Exchange, Dish TV India, Tata Motors, SBI, Ashok Leyland, SAIL and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded securities on the NSE.
